Serana is the daughter of Lord Harkon and Valerica. Throughout the Dawnguard storyline, she is an active follower and reveals that Molag Bal himself "blessed" her family by making them Vampire Lords. She also offers her blood to the Dragonborn and so even a Dawnguard vampire hunter can become a Vampire Lord.
